Frequently asked questions & answers

Amelie Monira has been drawing and painting since her youth. She found it easy to reproduce in art lessons at school and developed great drawing skills. At the age of 10, she mainly painted with watercolors and colored pencils. Amelie Monira felt a deep calling to become an artist and was very diligent in her studies of painting techniques. Growing up in a family of gardeners, photographers and nutritionists, it was natural for her to understand that beauty comes from within and that you have to practice something to perfect it. She has traveled all over the world to collect and process inspiration from different cultures. She later lived for several years in New Zealand, Mexico and Venezuela, where she met and learned from many different artists. Many online courses helped her to improve her techniques and it took a while for her style to develop. It wasn’t until 2021, when she began the Mastery Program at the Milan Art Institute in the USA, that she refined her painting style into the loose, coloristic style she has today.

Amelie Monira went to school in Germany and has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Hotel Management. She worked for several years in 5-star hotels and in her family business. She later completed the Mastery Program at the Milan Art Institute and became a professional artist. Her paintings are represented in private collections worldwide.

Monira’s intention is to bring beauty and aesthetics into the homes and environments of her art collectors. Monira wants to help people discover their inner superpower and support them in living their dreams. With her art, she aims to make the world a better place. It donates part of its profits to charitable organizations (e.g. keeping the environment clean, strengthening human rights, raising awareness of values in society, helping children and animals in need to have a safer and better life). She also helps other artists to build a successful art business by organizing art exhibitions and sharing her knowledge with them in workshops.

A mixed media painting consists of a painting on canvas that is created using various materials. Finally, it is made to shine with oil colours. This takes several weeks. Amelie Monira has written a step-by-step list to explain how an art collector would go about commissioning a unique piece. You can read more here.

Your painting will be delivered ready to hang. A hanging rope or hook is already attached to the back of the painting. It is best to hang your wired painting on two hooks that are about 10-20 cm apart (depending on the size of the picture). When hanging your artwork, make sure it is at eye level so that your wall is easily accessible and pleasant to look at. If you have a mixture of small and large artworks, arrange them to create a balanced visual flow.
In summary, choosing artwork for your living room is a creative adventure that allows you to fill your space with your unique personality and style.

Depending on how you light your picture, it will look different. Natural ambient light gives your painting a pleasant atmosphere in daylight, which changes subtly as the sun rises and sets throughout the day. At night, on the other hand, you are completely dependent on artificial light. You have probably already noticed how great paintings look in a gallery. Art galleries use warm or cool spotlights to highlight the colors in certain areas of the painting and to intensify the light on the center of the painting. You can imitate this effect in your home by installing halogen spotlights on the ceiling above your painting. These lights are surprisingly inexpensive to install (an electrician can fit them in a few hours), and if you want, you can buy the lights yourself online. But even without direct lighting for your painting, the artwork will look good with a nearby light bulb. A light directed from above allows you to see the thick brushstrokes, perceive every subtle color variation and enjoy the painting in a whole new light.

Prints on panels are high-quality prints on acrylic glass or Alu-Dibond.

Acrylic glass is also known as art glass . This is a transparent plastic panel on which a painting has been printed using high-quality inks. Acrylic glass is therefore not glass in the conventional sense, as it is made of plastic. Acrylic glass is particularly popular due to its break resistance and impact strength.

Alu-Dibond prints are printed on sturdy, weather- and UV-resistant aluminum panels and are therefore perfect for outdoor use – and look fantastic at the same time.

Works of art are easy to care for. Original paintings and decorated prints all have a protective varnish that protects them from UV light and dust.

Simply remove dust from original works and art prints on canvas by carefully wiping the artwork with a slightly damp, lint-free cloth.

To ensure that you can enjoy your acrylic or Alu-Dibond print for a long time, you should pay attention to the following points:

  • Do not hang the picture directly above a radiator.
  • Do not expose the picture to direct sunlight.
  • For large formats, use at least two nails or screws that are fixed symmetrically in the wall. Do not hang your picture with a string or wire on a single screw.
  • Only clean the surfaces with a dry, soft, lint-free cloth.
  • Avoid exerting too much pressure on the surface when cleaning.
  • Never use glass cleaning products or, for example, glass cleaner. Alcohol with more than 5%, acetone, benzene or carbon tetrachloride, abrasive cleaners and scouring pads or brushes, harsh cleaning agents or spray cleaners for glass.
