MONIRA ART combines vibrant oil and mixed-media paintings with emotional stories.
I work with oil paints, acrylics, spray paint, ink, collage, gold and metallic elements, and various textures. This results in vibrant, multi-layered works that straddle the line between realism and abstraction.
My subjects—women, animals, and nature—are combined with vibrant colors and abstract backgrounds. My goal is not simply to create decorative images. My art is meant to evoke something: a sense of freedom, courage, beauty, or a new beginning.
For many years, art has been my way of sharing my experiences and my zest for life with others. Today, my works are part of private collections and are featured in exhibitions in various countries; they have been on display in Paris, Rome, Madrid, and London, among other places.

At the age of 10, she mainly painted with watercolors and colored pencils. Amelie Monira felt a deep calling to become an artist and was very diligent in her studies of painting techniques. Since she grew up in a family of gardeners, photographers, and nutritionists, it came naturally to her to understand that beauty comes from within and that it’s important to practice a lot to perfect one’s skills.
She has traveled all over the world to collect and process inspiration from different cultures. She later lived for several years in New Zealand, Mexico and Venezuela, where she met and learned from many different artists.
Many online courses helped her to improve her techniques and it took a while for her style to develop. In 2025, she completed the Mastery Program at the Milan Art Institute in the United States and refined her painting style into the loose, coloristic style she uses today. She paints primarily using mixed media and refines her works with oil paints.
Today she lives in Meersburg on Lake Constance. She is available for visits in her studio at any time upon request.
Amelie Monira went to school in Überlingen on Lake Constance in Germany and has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Hotel Management. She worked for several years in 5-star hotels in Berlin and in her family business on Lake Constance.
She later completed the Mastery Program at the Milan Art Institute and became a professional artist. She exhibits her works in many countries in Europe and her pictures are represented in private collections worldwide.
Monira’s goal is to bring beauty and aesthetics into the homes and surroundings of her art collectors. Through her paintings of animals, nature, and women in nature, she aims to convey a sense of the joy of life.
Monira wants to help people discover their inner superpower and support them in living their dreams. With her art, she aims to make the world a better place.
It donates part of its profits to charitable organizations (e.g. keeping the environment clean, strengthening human rights, raising awareness of values in society, helping children and animals in need to have a safer and better life).
She also helps other artists to build a successful art business by organizing art exhibitions and sharing her knowledge with them in workshops.
Amelie Monira is a mixed media oil artist. She uses various techniques with different materials and then refines them with oil paints.
Her paintings are in the style of abstract realism. You find real elements on an abstract background.
The originals are painted on the finest Hahnemühle paper or high-quality canvases. She< 2 >works with oil paints, acrylics, spray paint, ink, collage, gold and metallic elements, as well as various textures.
The original works are framed if the canvases have a frame thickness of 2 cm.
Original works with a frame thickness of 4 cm do not need a frame. The edges are all painted to match.
Each artwork can also be viewed in advance, either via Zoom or in person.
My inspiration stems from where I grew up: on Lake Constance, surrounded by forests and nature. From an early age, I was fascinated by the beauty, freedom, and power of nature. At the same time, my own life journey, travels, and experiences have shaped me—from my time abroad to personal changes and challenges.
After a career in marketing and the hospitality industry, I continued to deepen my passion for art and eventually turned it into my profession. Today, all of these experiences find their way into my work: my love of nature, my joy in life, my travels, and above all, the conviction that we can always start anew and forge our own path.
To me, the connection between women and nature symbolizes freedom, strength, intuition, and a zest for life. The woman is not merely a subject here—she represents a person who follows her own path, dreams, evolves, and continually surpasses herself.
To me, nature symbolizes precisely this power: it grows, changes, and finds its way. That is why, in my paintings, human emotions intersect with landscapes, plants, and abstract worlds of color. A connection is formed between the inner and outer worlds.
To me, animals are symbols of qualities that we humans also possess. They can represent freedom, courage, strength, intuition, loyalty, or a sense of connection.
I am particularly interested in the relationship between humans, animals, and nature. An animal in my paintings should not only look beautiful, but also tell a story and leave room for the viewer’s own interpretation.
My art is meant to convey a sense of the joy of life.
Through my artwork, I want to remind people that they are free to dream, to follow their own path, and to shape their own future. My main themes are joy of life, courage, self-confidence, freedom, beauty, and hope.
That is why many of my works explore themes of change and new beginnings—moments when light, strength, and a new zest for life emerge from a difficult past.
Yes. I create custom artwork for individuals, businesses, and special spaces. The result is a one-of-a-kind original that is tailored entirely to your story, your wishes, and your personal style.
For example, you can share with me a special moment in your life, a trip, a favorite place, a person, or an animal. Together, we’ll turn that into a work of art that not only fits perfectly in your home but also takes on a very personal meaning.
Can you draw a specific place?
I’d be happy to. Your favorite place can become an important part of the painting—whether it’s a special vacation spot, your home, a landscape, the ocean, or a place that holds a special memory for you.
You can also combine different elements: For example, your favorite place can be transformed into a very personal story on canvas by pairing it with a special person, an animal, or an important moment in your life.
Can you draw a family portrait?
Yes. I can bring together individual people or several family members in a single painting. It doesn’t necessarily have to be a traditional family portrait.
I especially love incorporating shared memories, places, symbols, or personal elements and using them to create a work of art that tells the story of your bond.
Can you paint a portrait of an animal?
Yes—animals are among my favorite subjects. Whether it’s a dog, cat, horse, bird, or wild animal, I can turn your pet into a personalized work of art based on your photos.
The portrait can be rendered realistically or incorporate my signature vibrant mixed-media and abstract elements. I can also incorporate your favorite colors, landscapes, or symbolic elements into the painting.
How does a commissioned project work?
After you submit your request, we’ll discuss your ideas in person, over the phone, or via Zoom. You can show me photos, ideas, your favorite colors, or examples. Photos of the room will also help me develop a design that fits the size, colors, and style.
You will then receive a personalized quote with all the agreed-upon details. Once you’ve paid a 50% deposit, I’ll begin working on the project. Throughout the creative process, I’ll keep you updated with photos and videos, and you can request up to three revisions.
Once completed, the painting will be sealed for protection and delivered after full payment has been received, or it can be picked up by arrangement. Personal delivery and assistance with hanging the painting are also available within the immediate area. Worldwide shipping is available.
How long does a commissioned work take?
A custom painting takes time because it is created in several layers, and each piece is made especially for you.
Depending on the size, technology, and complexity, production time typically ranges from several weeks to several months.. For larger commissioned projects, the implementation can take 1–6 months.
I’ll discuss the estimated timeframe with you when I prepare the quote.
How much does a custom painting cost?
The price depends on the size, technique, number of people or animals, level of detail, and the amount of work required.
As a general guide, individual mixed-media paintings currently start at €0.20 per cm².

These prices are intended as a guide for mixed-media paintings. The price may be higher if the painting features multiple people or faces, more complex techniques, pure oil painting, or a specific framing request.

Have you spotted a painting in the gallery but aren’t sure yet if it will fit in your space? If you live near the Monira Art Gallery (Lake Constance region), Monira can bring the artwork you’ve chosen to your home so you can see if it looks good in your I like the spot I chose. It can also stay up for a week on a trial basis.
If that’s not possible, you can Send a photo of the wall where the artwork will eventually hang. Monira will digitally place the painting of your choice in your room and email you the image so you can take your time deciding.
Even with the installation examples, it can sometimes be hard to imagine how a piece of art will look in your own space. We’re happy to help you find the perfect painting that you’ll enjoy for years to come.

Your painting will be delivered ready to hang. A hanging rope or hook is already attached to the back of the painting.
If the picture is wider than 100 cm, it’s best to attach two nails or hooks to the wall.
Use a level to make sure the picture is hanging straight.
When you hang your artwork, make sure it’s at eye level so that your wall is easily accessible and pleasant to look at.
Depending on how you light the painting, it will look different. Natural ambient light gives your painting a pleasant atmosphere in daylight, which changes subtly as the sun rises and sets throughout the day. At night, however, you’re completely reliant on artificial light.
I’m sure you’ve already noticed how great paintings look in a gallery. Art galleries use warm or cool spotlights to highlight the colors in certain areas of the painting and to intensify the light on the center of the painting.
You can recreate this effect at home by installing halogen spotlights on the ceiling above your painting. These lights are surprisingly inexpensive to install (you or an electrician can install them in just a few hours).
But even without direct lighting on your painting, the artwork looks great with a nearby incandescent light bulb. Light directed from above allows you to see the thick brushstrokes, notice every variation in color, and enjoy the painting in a whole new light.
Here in the online store, you can request limited-edition prints on canvas or purchase prints on paper—either framed or unframed. There aren’t many prints available on the website, but you can always send an email to request a print of your favorite artwork.
I also offer a great selection of art designs on mugs, pillows, T-shirts, cotton bags, and blankets. Perfect for keeping your favorite pieces of art with you at all times!
Art prints on paper are supplied with an additional white border for framing. The prints on paper from Monira Art are packaged in a transparent protective sleeve in a crease-resistant envelope. They fit into all standard frames.
You can also request an embellished print. This is a print that has been embellished by hand and is hand-signed by the artist. There is only a limited edition of these. Each of these prints comes with a certificate of authenticity that includes the limited edition number.
A few times a year, affordable art prints of selected works of art are also published on high-quality paper in limited editions in small formats. The edition is limited to 10 copies.
This is a print with retouched color. This can be acrylic or oil paint and other mixed media materials such as gold leaf. The prints are 100% printed in Germany with high-quality inks on canvas, they are already stretched on a wooden frame and can be hung up immediately.
Amelie Monira adds textured color to the print to make it look like the original painting. As soon as the paint is dry, it is ready for dispatch and is sent directly from the studio, just as we do for an original painting.
Any artwork can be turned into an embellished print upon request. Just send an email and ask about it.
A limited edition print has a limited run and can be printed on various substrates (canvas, acrylic glass, paper, etc.). These are simply high-quality inks printed on a specific material. The prints can be produced in limited editions and collected. The print does not come from my studio, but from a very high-quality company that produces the prints on demand. I sign and number them by hand.
An “Embellished Print” is 100% made in Germany and is produced in a limited edition (I determine the edition size for each painting). I work with the best print shops in Germany, which I have personally tested. The print is sent to my studio, where it is retouched by hand with textured paint to make it look like an original, and as soon as it is dry, I ship it from my studio to the collector. The prints are signed by hand and come with a certificate of authenticity.
An original painting is the ultimate product. It can be any size, from very small to huge. Each piece is unique. I purchase high-quality canvases in Germany and use only select, high-quality paints to express my creativity and vision on the canvases.
Yes, only a maximum of 10 prints of an exclusive work of art are produced – each limited edition print guarantees its uniqueness and collector’s value.
The prints are hand-signed, numbered and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity confirming their originality.
That is why the limited edition prints are more valuable than a normal print. They are only available in limited quantities and are hand-signed.
Yes, you can definitely choose the size you want. You can discuss everything with me personally, and I’ll guide you through the process.
I recommend choosing a minimum size of 30 x 40 cm (11 x 15 inches). The price depends on the size.
Works of art are easy to care for.
Original paintings and decorated prints all have a protective varnish that protects them from UV light and dust.
Easily remove dust from original artworks and art prints on canvas by gently wiping them down with a slightly damp, lint-free cloth.
Small imperfections such as dents or pressure marks on the canvas can often be softened or even removed by lightly spraying the reverse side with water. This works best with a standard flower sprayer. After spraying, the canvas will smooth itself out by the next day so that dents and impressions disappear.
If the canvas frame has warped slightly—for example, if one corner is sticking out from the wall—drive wooden wedges into the two opposite corners on the back of the painting (these are often included) or have the painting framed.
The wooden wedges are inserted into the slots provided in the corners and tapped in very carefully with a hammer to tension the canvas. This straightens the frame again—it’s quick and easy. If the picture is framed with a shadow-line frame, that’s another solution.
