Dreaming in Venice shows one of Monira’s favorite places in Venice. The “Ponte dell’Accademia” bridge over the Grand Canal is one of the most magical places. You can see the “Basilica di Santa Maria” and a daydreaming “gondoliero” enjoying the beautiful sunset. This painting is painted in the Old Master technique in several layers. It has bright and vibrant colors, lots of texture in the clouds and conveys a warm feeling of joy and happiness. Here is a poem that was written for the painting:
VENICE FOREVER
Blood-red skies above crimson roofs over blood-orange canals, the same boats have been gliding along silken waterways for 1800 years. Almost 2 millennia lovers swear their love forever, solemn promises end in eternal love or in tears. Gondoliers plying their trade from sunrise to sunset, a city of love, mystery and truly transcendent art. Peace and tranquillity now fill this water paradise by the sea.

My name is Amelie Monira Egenolf and I am a freelance artist from Lake Constance. My very colorful painting style has many influences from my numerous stays abroad in South America and Asia.
Spirituality, love, family and nature are the main themes in my paintings, with the intention of bringing light, magic, beauty and new energy into the lives of art lovers.
I mainly paint with acrylic and oil paint and mixed techniques on canvas.
